April 6, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: I wonder how many people in Virginia feel as stressed by national news as I am.
Our president is inconsistent and erratic, lies often and openly, with no one to call him out, on issues like Iran and war.
Does he even know that he lies, or does he by habit feel right about saying anything to simply dismiss annoying questions? He appears to deny realities that others perceive, like the economy, like the Strait of Hormuz, like the Constitution. Trump’s late night pictorial musings of having Jesus- like powers are frightening.
Trump is a dangerous narcissist capable of avoiding realities, and worse, acting out his fantasies.
All of this matters. His threats to bomb Iran out of existence, in my view, could happen. Or worse.
I believe that Congress should impeach Donald Trump and remove him from office. Trump himself has said: “If we don’t win the midterms, it’s just going to be -- I mean, they will find a reason to impeach me. I will get impeached.” FRED FEVRIER Walkers Creek
