BV Launches New Website

Email Addresses Also Moving To Gov Domain

The city of Buena Vista is launching a newly redesigned website this week, now available at www.buenavista.gov.

This launch, according to a spokesperson, “marks a major milestone in the city’s ongoing efforts to improve communication, accessibility and transparency for residents, businesses and visitors.

“The new website reflects a comprehensive, multi-year effort, building on work that began several years ago, to modernize the city’s digital presence and create a more user-friendly experience. With improved navigation, updated content and a more intuitive layout, the site is designed to make it easier for users to find the information they need – whether accessing city services, staying informed on local updates or exploring what Buena Vista has to offer.”

As part of this transition, the city has also moved to a .gov domain, which is exclusively reserved for verified government organizations, stated the spokesperson, “making it easier for users to identify official city communications while providing an added layer of trust and security.”

In addition, all city email addresses are transitioning to the @buenavistava.gov domain. “While these updates reflect a more consistent and secure communication system, the city emphasizes that previous website addresses will continue to automatically redirect users to the new site and existing @bvcity.org email addresses will remain active for a period of time, ensuring no disruption in communication.”

“This new website represents a significant step forward in how we connect with our community,” said Wayne Handley, interim city manager. “Our goal was to create a platform that is not only visually updated, but truly functional, making it easier for people to access information and engage with the city.”

Online payment functionality is not yet available. This feature is currently in development and is expected to be added in the coming months.

“Residents and users are encouraged to explore the new site and familiarize themselves with its features,” said the spokesperson. “As with any major update, the city will continue to refine and enhance the site over time.”
