Connecting attendees through the acts of viewing a movie, enjoying food, and discussing reactions, the DeLaney Center Screen to Square Film Series aids audience members in reflecting on their civic duties.
The theme for 2025-2026 is “Racial Adversity and Southern Resilience.” On Monday, May 11, at 5:30 p.m. in Washington and Lee’s Stackhouse Theater, the center will continue this year’s explorations by showing “Mudbound,” a feature film about farming, soldiering, family, and race in the Mississippi.
Following the screening, at approximately 7:45 p.m., panelists — including members of the Lexington/Rockbridge community and W&L professors — will lead the audience into a discussion touching on war, work, affection, and self-definition.
This event is free, and during the screening, pizza, drinks, and desserts will be served.
