Glasgow Town Hall sent out notices in the last water bill concerning various markets, and events happening this summer.
Beginning May 2, there will be “Farmer and Flea” outdoor markets every Saturday through October. This is located on the former Presbyterian Church property along Blue Ridge Road.
Starting June 12, “Farmer and Flea” will be held two days a week with Fridays being held at the farmer’s market building and lot off Rockbridge Road on the corner of Kanawha and 10th streets. The pavilion is reserved for farmers and homemade items. The flea market items may be located around the perimeter.
The “free” market will be held on third Thursdays from May through October from 9 to 11 a.m. (weather permitting). This will be on McCulloch Street, down from Town Hall, across from the food pantry. Donations for any market are accepted at Town Hall Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment, (540) 258-2246.
There will be a car show at Knick Memorial Ball Field on May 9. See Glasgow Car Show Facebook page for information.
Two music events are planned this year. The first will be on July 25, with Little Marvin and the Martians. The second is scheduled for Sept. 5 with Jason Hostetter. These will be held at the Locher Pavilion from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Two Rivers Trading had its grand opening last Friday. They feature unique antiques, vintage and home décor items and are located on Blue Ridge Road, across from Town Hall.
