‘Remember Trump’s Promises’

April 20, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: Far right radical Steve Bannon was first to state he wanted to burn the federal government to the ground and start over, not the liberal Democrats in Richmond as the political ad stated in typical spew of falsifying facts and misinformation. The radical right is doing exactly what they accuse the left of doing.

For six years we’ve been constantly reminded that the 2020 election was stolen and we must “Stop the Steal.” There have been no evidence of any election fraud despite over 60 investigations. The fact that Russia interfered with the 2016 election by favoring Trump did provide evidence that the present sitting president might have stole that election.

After waiting 15 years for the Republican plan to eliminate the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care) and replace it with a better and cheaper one, they showed their true colors with the Big Beautiful Bill where millions of people were removed from coverage with even more people unable to afford the increase that resulted.

Trump always delays or postpones his nonsense for two weeks. He surprisingly understands the public usually forgets the rapidly changing news cycle he creates. Except for his Retribution Campaign and the Epstein files why does he continually hire desperate attorneys trying to find any sliver of outrageous theories to bring indictments just to satisfy his narcissistic personality? He will eventually fire them. In time, they could possible be disbarred for lying under oath.

Democrats should be paying more attention to controlling the Senate. If Republicans maintain control after the mid-term election, rest assured Supreme Court Justices Alito, Thomas and possibly Roberts will retire. This will give Trump the opportunity to appoint another three younger justices. The court would then be an extreme right radical conservative court for 50 years!

Remember Trump’s promises: lower gas prices, no wars, food prices would be lowered “on day one.” How’s he doing Rep. Cline and Mr. and Mrs. Lowry? TOM DeSANTIS Buena Vista
