The Jackson River Governor’s School at Mountain Gateway Community College will hold a Scientific Research Fair this Thursday, April 23, at the Moomaw Center on the MGCC Clifton Forge campus and is open to the public.
The fair serves as a capstone for the academic year, showcasing a diverse array of independent research projects conducted by JRGS students representing area high schools, including Parry McCluer.
The event will be held during two sessions to accommodate public attendance, a morning session from 9 to 10:30 and an evening session from 5 to 6. An awards ceremony will start at 5:50.
During these sessions, student researchers will be stationed at their displays to discuss their methodologies, defend their findings, and answer questions from the public and a panel of expert judges. Three projects will be selected for distinguished recognition during the concluding awards ceremony.
