Thank you to the praise team and the choir for providing music for Sunday’s worship service at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, and thank you to Laura Hotinger for playing piano. Donna Fix provided a minute for mission on Sunday about the many ways we can support the RARA food pantry. We take up a collection every month of different items that are on the list of most requested items. April and May we will be collecting personal hygiene items such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and shampoo (small packs and travel size are great).
We also participate in the presbytery’s “CENTS-ability” collection where we bring our loose change on the fourth Sunday of the month for the children to collect. The money collected meets the needs locally, regionally and around the world.
There will be a meeting regarding vacation Bible school on Sunday, April 26, following the worship service. VBS is fast-approaching and will take place June 1-4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It is open to children preschool through elementary school age. Middle school and high school youths are invited to participate as helpers. Our theme is “God is our Shelter,” and we will be learning about the Feast of Tabernacles.
The next lunch bunch will be a picnic at the pavilion on May 12 at 12:30. Bring a dish to share.
Summer worship schedule will begin on May 24 (Memorial Day weekend) with worship at 10 a.m.
Mark your calendars for New Monmouth’s next Music Sunday and potluck lunch. We will have a Music Sunday service on Sunday, May 31, and we ask that everyone bring a dish or dessert to share. If you’d like to offer special music, please let Casey or Rachel Clark know.
