Monday, April 20 -- The Rockbridge County High School girls lacrosse team coasted to a 23-3 win over Jefferson Forest in Lexington.
Seven different players recorded multiple points for the Wildcats (6-1), led by five goals and four assists from Emma McKnight. Lexi Samante had four goals and one assist, while Laura Ingram totaled three goals and two helpers, and Adrianna Grue finished with three markers and one assist. Sofia Gaydos and Sadie Edwards each posted two goals and two assists, and Anna Nye contributed one score and three assists.
RC also amassed a 22-5 advantage on the draw circle, with Nye collecting 16 draws and Ingram snaring the other six. McKnight also paced the defensive effort with three caused turnovers.
Paige Capsello scored two goals for the Cavaliers (2-2), and Brooke Capsello made six saves.
The Wildcats will return to the field on Thursday as part of an RC lacrosse tripleheader against E.C. Glass. Action begins with the junior varsity boys game at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity boys and varsity girls contests.
