RC Girls Netters Blanked

The Rockbridge County High School girls tennis team suffered a 9-0 road loss to Shenandoah District rival Stuarts Draft on Monday of last week. The Wildcats fell to 0-7, both overall and in the district.

In the closest singles match up the date, RC’s Jade Newhall lost 9-8 (7-4 tiebreak) to Draft’s Neva Miller. The No. 3 doubles match was also a battle, with Draft’s Kaylee Jarvis and Neva Miller narrowly beating Wildcats Charlotte Taylor and Eliana Osbourne 9-8 (7-4 tiebreak).

After returning from spring break, the Wildcats were scheduled to play host to Buffalo Gap yesterday and will continue district action at home against Staunton on Thursday before playing at Riverheads on Monday. Both matches are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
