Kerrs Creek

Rachel Clark, (630)

Thank you to the Ukeladies and the praise team for leading music on Sunday morning at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church. Thank you to Joann Blouin for being our lay leader. There are open slots for the upcoming months and we’d love to have your help.

Women’s Circle will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Clarks’ house. We will discuss an article about prayer by Tish Harrison Warren. It can be found at the following link: https://www. plough.com/en/topics/faith/ prayer/give-rest-to-theweary.

You are invited to an Anne of Green Gables Book Club hosted by Rachel Clark. Those who would like to participate will read the book and then we will meet for a discussion and tea party on Tuesday, May 26, at 2 p.m. at the Clark house. Let Rachel know if you are interested in participating, and she will send you some discussion questions to think about as you read the book.

The Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club met at Bethany Lutheran Church on March 17. Many thanks to the church for opening their social hall to us. The club had a trash pickup on March 21. Thanks to Sarah Burleson for coordinating this project and all those that participated to keep the Kerrs Creek area clean.

The following attendance awards were presented by John Burleson and Roger Williamson: one year, Rob Wiley, Ron Perkins and Jan Perkins; three years, Deb Jarrett; six years, Steve Donald; seven years, Christy Harris, eight years, Vicki Hodges, Tim Hodges, Rosanne Mackey, Sarah Burleson and Roger Williamson; 10 years, Reid Mackey; 17 years: Rene Hasey and Janet Drake; 19 years, Felicia Bush; 20 years, Ray Burner; 21 years, Richard Hasey; 25 years, John Burleson; 29 years, Julie Hotinger Crowder and Bill Jenkins; 32 years, Dianne Swink; 48 years, Gary Swink; 51 years, Wayne Spence; 56 years, Ivan Branch.

John Burleson has taken over the job of organizing the awards from Ivan Branch who kept attendance for many years. Ivan Branch passed away on April 2. He was a faithful and hardworking member of the club for many years. He will be missed.

The April meeting will be held at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, April 21, at 6:30. The mission group at the church will prepare the meal.
