It was a beautiful spring morning for the annual Kids Fishing Day at Natural Bridge State Park Saturday. The event, presented by Friends of Natural Bridge State Park, drew 100 children and 85 adults. Cedar Creek was stocked with rainbow trout and children were able to keep up to six fish. Besides the Friends of NBSP, Kids Fishing Day was sponsored by Siler Trucking Company, Bizzee B Catering, Spencer Home Center, Upper James River Resource and Conservation Development Council and Blue Ridge Deli. The event is designed to introduce children to the joys of fishing in a beautiful and educational outdoor setting, said a park spokesperson. (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos)
