Melissa Goana, an anchor with WDBJ7, was guest speaker recently at the Usher Ministry Women’s prayer breakfast at Union Baptist Church. A blessed time of fellowship with food, testimonies and inspirational words were shared.
The weather was perfect for the large crowd of kids and parents and friends who attended the first annual Easter egg hunt and pancake dinner with the Easter Bunny at the Glasgow Squad building last Friday evening.

Also, in a closed session of Town Council following their last public Council meeting, it was decided to allow Mike Finchum, husband of Town Manager Allyson Finchum, to take the position of interim manager, while she will be concentrating on the newly acquired town properties and upcoming events to be held there. Mike has been unofficially acting as her right-hand man since she took office so he is very familiar with the activities of the town and its government.
If you see the town’s gray pickup traveling about town, it’s Officer Fred Smith, newly hired code enforcement officer, checking for violations of town codes concerning trash and junk pile-up, tall grass, inoperative vehicles and so forth.
Guest speaker at Glasgow Baptist this past Easter Sunday was former interim pastor Larry Ross of Bedford. His wife Janet was also in attendance.
