The process of weaning babies, which begins with the first taste of solid food, will be the topic at the April 14 meeting of La Leche League, to be held at Grace Episcopal Church at 125 W. Washington St., Lexington.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the church library on the second floor, accessible via elevator at the back of the church.
The American Association of Pediatrics recommends exclusive breast milk as the ideal food for the first six months and then slowly introducing healthy solids. What are some good choices for first foods will be discussed, as well as what might be avoided depending on possible allergies that might run in the family.
