The Oxford Presbyterian Church will hold a Maundy Thursday service on April 2 at 7 p.m. It will include the sacrament of communion and a service of shadows.
The Collierstown United Methodist Women in Faith are wrapping up their homemade peanut butter and coconut cream Easter eggs sales. The cost of each 5-ounce eggs is $6. Orders can be placed by calling the church at (540) 463-7717 or by contacting one of the women of the church.
The Collierstown United Methodist Charge will hold a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. on April 3 at the Collierstown Church. An Easter Sunrise Service will be held at the Seclusion at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, followed by breakfast at the Collierstown United Methodist Church at 8 a.m. The Easter Worship Service will be held in the sanctuary of the Collierstown Church at 9 a.m.
The Effinger Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, April 4, at the pavilion on the grounds of the Collierstown Baptist Church from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Easter Bunny sponsored by the Effinger Ruritan Club will be on hand to meet and be photographed with the children in attendance. Families are invited to bring their children to enjoy hunting Easter eggs and other activities. The sponsoring community churches for the event are Union View Advent Christian Church, Collierstown Baptist Church, Collierstown Presbyterian Church, Collierstown United Methodist Church, Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, Oxford Presbyterian Church and the Rapps Mill Church.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church will hold a 6:30 a.m. sunrise worship service on April 5 on top of the Cemetery Hill. Following the service there will be a traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, fruit and pastries in the church’s fellowship hall for all to enjoy. At 11 a.m. the congregation will hold its Easter Worship service in the church sanctuary.
Members and friends of the Union View Advent Christian Church will gather at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, for an Easter Sunrise Service at the Church. A breakfast and time of fellowship will be enjoyed following the service.
The Collierstown Presbyterian Church’s Night Circle will meet on Thursday, April 9, in the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. Jean Cook will lead the evening’s study taken from the book of Philemon. All women are invited to join the group in person or on Facebook Live.
