The Friends of the Chessie Trail welcome participants of all ages to a fun and educational wildflower walk this Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m. on the Chessie Trail.
This beautiful and informative stroll will be led by Virginia Native Plant Society members Peggy Dyson-Cobb and Jan Smith. Native, nonnative and invasive species will be identified, and participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring binoculars for viewing cliffside plants.
This event will begin and end at the Lexington side of the trail on Buena Vista Road.
For more information, contact Anne Ritter at gardnerar870@ gmail.com or (540) 570-5151. In case of pouring rain, the event will be postponed until the following Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. Updates will be posted to friendsofthechessietrail.org, and the Friends of the Chessie Trail Facebook and Instagram pages.
