Supporting Restoration Work At Cemetery

Supporting Restoration Work At Cemetery
Lexington VFW Quartermaster David Kuroski kneels beside the fallen gravestone of Cpl. John M. Dunlap during his recent visit to the McKee/Big Spring Cemetery. He was visiting the historic Kerrs Creek area cemetery to present a grant award from the Virginia Veterans Foundation to Trish Lyons-Wilson, treasurer of the McKee/Big Spring Cemetery Association. The grant — one of only 15 statewide — will assist in the stone’s restoration. Dunlap died at the age of 26 at the Battle of Gettysburg. Anyone interested in supporting restoration of this stone can mail donations to McKee/Big Spring Cemetery Association, 24 Sky View Lane, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473, or call (336) 328-5507
