Watson Earns Eagle Scout Recognition

Rockbridge County High School senior Tyler Watson continued a family tradition when he recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts of American, now Scouting America.

Tyler’s two older brothers and his father are all Eagle Scouts.

Tyler started his Scouting America career as Tiger Cub Scout in Pack 400 in Brandywine, W.Va., and moved to Troop 42 at the Harrisonburg Baptist Church in 2017 and remained active in Troop 42 until he turned 18.

He earned 41 merit badges and was decorated with four Eagle Scout Palms. During his time in Scouts, he attended camp at two of the National Scout camps, including Northern Tier in where he canoed 75 miles. He also attended Bechtel Summit High Adventure Camp in West Virginia.

His parents are Brad and Carol Watson. He is planning on participating in a church mission at the beginning of 2027.
