Both the Rockbridge County High School baseball and softball teams earned resounding home victories over local rival Parry McCluer on Thursday evening in Lexington.
The RC baseball team (1-1) won 27-1 over the Fighting Blues (0-2), while the Wildcats’ softball team (1-0) powered its way to a 17-0 win over PM (1-1). In the softball game, RC senior Sadie Moore struck out 12 batters. Both games ended in five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
On Monday, the RC baseball and softball teams are scheduled to play at Shenandoah District rival Wilson Memorial at 6 p.m. The PM baseball and softball teams are slated to play host to Pioneer District rival Eastern Montgomery on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
