A local coalition will sponsor the third “No Kings” event on Saturday, March 28.
Community members should meet at Oak Grove Cemetery in Lexington by 2 p.m. The group will walk from Oak Grove to Hopkins Green, where there will be a brief series of songs and speeches in a nonviolent demonstration of citizens’ rights. Participants are encouraged to make signs related to No Kings and to the state referendum and are welcome to do so with others at the Democratic Party Headquarters (11 S. Jefferson St. in Lexington) on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Coalition members include 50 Ways Rockbridge, the Bridge Brigade, Hearts for Democracy, the Lexington-Rockbridge-Buena Vista Democratic Committee, Maury River Friends Meeting, the Rockbridge Racial Equity Coalition, and the Washington and Lee University College Democrats.
