Relay For Life Planning Meeting Tomorrow Night

The Relay For Life of Rockbridge County planning committee is calling on the community to unite in the fight against cancer. This year’s Relay will be held on Saturday, Aug. 31, and the committee is inviting everyone to get involved by joining a team, becoming a sponsor or volunteering.

The next planning meeting will be held on Thursday, March 19, at 6 p.m. at Frank’s Pizza in Lexington. All are welcome to attend, learn more about the event, and find out how they can participate in this year’s celebration of survivors, remembrance of loved ones, and commitment to a cancer-free future.

Relay For Life is a special time where survivors are celebrated, caregivers are recognized, and loved ones are remembered. The event will begin with the Survivors Lap, a moving tradition where survivors walk the first lap together, cheered on by friends, family, and supporters. This lap is a symbol of hope, courage, and the power of community.

“Cancer survivors are the heart of Relay For Life,” said Robin Moore, event chair for Relay For Life of Rockbridge County. “Whether you were diagnosed decades ago or just recently, your journey matters. We want to walk alongside you, celebrate your milestones, and let you know that you are never alone.”

All survivors who register will receive a special t-shirt and are invited to attend the Survivor Reception, where light refreshments, fellowship, and recognition will be shared.

For more information, to register a team, or to get involved, visit www.relayforlife.org/rockbridgeva or contact Robin Hartless Moore at (540) 460-2485 or [email protected].
