Clark Named To CornerStone Board

Dallas Clark has been named CornerStone Bank’s newest member of the board of directors. Clark is a financial and administrative leader in institutional finance, governance, strategic planning, and operational oversight.

He is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he earned a degree in economics and business. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Clark began his career in the private sector before returning to VMI to serve in the VMI Alumni Association, where his responsibilities included cadet recruiting, alumni engagement, and career placement. He later joined the Institute’s business office as institute planning officer, overseeing strategic planning, facilities master planning, emergency preparedness, and related institutional initiatives.

He subsequently advanced to associate deputy superintendent for finance, administration, and support.

Following his service as vice president and chief advancement officer at Southern Virginia University, Clark returned to VMI in 2017 assuming responsibility for a broad portfolio of operational and administrative functions as deputy superintendent for finance and support. In this role, he oversees finance and budget functions, auxiliary services, facilities management, infirmary, cadet counseling, museum operations, and government relations.

“Dallas’ leadership experience and financial expertise make him uniquely qualified to serve on CornerStone’s board of directors,” said Jay Melvin, chairman of the board. “He understands and values community banking and shares CornerStone’s vision of providing caring, customer service centered on integrity, honesty, convenience and accessibility.”

Clark has served on several community and civic organizations, including the Lexington–Rockbridge United Way, the Lexington–Rockbridge Chamber of Commerce, and currently is a member of the Lexington/Buena Vista Joint Board of Building Code Appeals. He is a graduate of the College Business Managers Institute and the Next Generation Chief Business Officers program at the University of Kentucky.
