The RCHS Art Department is hosting two art shows during the month of March. Friday March 6, was opening night for the first showcase at Earth, Fire, and Spirit Pottery in downtown Lexington. The art and photography students had the opportunity to select their favorite pieces to showcase for the month. During this show, the students’ artworks are for sale to the public.

The second art show will be in the RCHS commons area. Artwork will be on view March 23-28 during school hours and during the school’s musical production of “Grease.” Head down to Earth, Fire, and Spirit Pottery this month to see the artwork made by RCHS students.

RCHS is prioritizing attendance this month by holding two attendance competitions. The first competition, “Strive for Five,” encourages students to attend five consecutive days of school in order to be entered into a raffle for a prize. The second competition mirrors a March Madness basketball bracket. First and seventh period classes compete against each other in a bracket for the highest attendance rate. The class that wins the bracket will earn a pizza party at the end of March.

Lastly, the RCHS Student Council Association (SCA) is hosting a community blood drive on Friday, March 13. This blood drive is open to the community, and anyone can donate blood if they meet the requirements and are above 16 years old. The event will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at RCHS.
