While the winter storm that went on to hammer the Northeast produced only rain and non-sticking snow in much of the Rockbridge area, residents in the northern part of the county experienced over an inch of snow and sleet Sunday afternoon. And, yes, VDOT crews were called back into action. This photo was taken along U.S. 11 south of Fairfield by Robyn Sherman. The storm also ushered in much colder temperatures and wind.
