PM Girls Ousted By Grayson County In Regional Quarterfinals

The Parry McCluer High School girls basketball team concluded its season with a 50-25 home loss to Grayson County in the Region 1C quarterfinals on Tuesday night in Buena Vista.

Grayson County (18-8), the third seed from the Mountain Empire District, contained the Fighting Blues (10-14), leading 18-8 at halftime. PM picked up its offense in the second half, but so did the Blue Devils, who pulled away for the victory.

The Blue Devils will travel to Pulaski County High School on Thursday to play either Craig County or George Wythe in the regional semifinals, with the tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.

PM will graduate two seniors: guards Kayleigh Ramsey and Katie Tomlin.
