The Buena Vista Police Department is seeking assistance in locating and identifying a suspect who is alleged to have attempted to use counterfeit bills in Buena Vista on Sunday.
According to a post on the Buena Vista Police Department’s Facebook page, the department received calls from the Dollar General and CVS on Midland Trail at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, stating that an individual had attempted to use two counterfeit $50 bills at each store. The suspect did not receive any merchandise and fled the scene on foot, and is believed to have possibly left the area in a white vehicle, traveling westbound on East Midland Trail. The make and model of the vehicle are unknown.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. Security footage of the suspect shows him wearing a tan zipfront jacket, dark shirt and pants and light-colored sneakers. He is also seen wearing a black knit hat with a gold band containing the words “New Orleans.”
