Playing its fourth game in five days, the Rockbridge County High School girls basketball team came up short 47-38 in Shenandoah District action at Fort Defiance on Friday night.
Lola Mulitalo led the Wildcats (9-14 overall, 7-8 district) with 13 points and 14 rebounds, while Bella Dorey scored 11 points. Dez Butler contributed six points for RC, and Genesis McCoy chipped in five.
Caroline Hanger paced Fort (7-12, 5-8) with 23 points, while Nora Knicley scored 16 points for the Indians.
With the victory, Fort avenged a 62-61 overtime loss to the Wildcats on Jan. 13.
The Wildcats will conclude the regular season when they play host to Alleghany on Wednesday at 6 pm. Before the game, the Wildcats will honor their four seniors: Brooklyn Beverly, Bella Dorey, Lola Mulitalo and Natalie Samante.
