The Parry McCluer High School boys and girls basketball teams are gearing up for the Pioneer District tournament next week.
The PM boys (18-3 overall, 10-0 district) enter the tournament as the top seed and are hoping to win their third consecutive district tournament title. They’ll have a bye in the quarterfinals before playing host to the winner of Monday’s game between the No. 4 and No. 5 teams in the semifinals on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.
The top seed will play host for the district championship next Friday, Feb. 20, at 7:30 p.m., following the third-place game at 6 p.m.
The PM girls (8-12, 5-5) are the No. 3 seed and will play host to sixth-seeded Highland County on Monday at 6 p.m. The winner will travel to face second-seeded Eastern Montgomery on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The girls’ third-place game is scheduled for next Thursday at 6 p.m., followed by the district championship game at 7:30 p.m., with both contests taking place at the highest seed still in the tournament.
