Longtime Lexington resident Miss Lucy Ackerly published a book of her childhood memories called “Miss Lucy’s Stories.” - The China House, offering “exotic dining any time of the day,” advertised its $1.50 lunches. The restaurant was located in the R.E. Lee Building.
-A rash of break-ins of cabins and houses in Rockbridge Baths came to an end when three young men were arrested for the crimes. Food and beverages were reported missing in all the break-ins.

Scott Dadson, Buena Vista’s city manager, announced his resignation and his new post as city manager of Beaufort, S.C. - Buena Vista public school teachers were promised their regular step salary increases of $500 each, but they were not getting raises. - The Rockbridge County Planning Commission recommended the approval of the construction of a cell tower in the Kerrs Creek area.
