Tuesday, Feb. 10 -- The Parry McCluer High School girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a 54-42 Pioneer District victory over Craig County in Buena Vista.
Josie Martinez racked up 24 points and 16 rebounds for the Fighting Blues (8-12 overall, 5-5 district), and Kayleigh Ramsey added 14 points. Caroline Watts had six points and six rebounds for PM, while Emory Slagle totaled seven rebounds, seven assists and three blocks.
Emily Smith posted 24 points and seven rebounds for the Rockets (6-7, 4-6), and Annalese Zimmerman recorded 11 points and 10 boards.
PM will return to action with a home contest in the Pioneer District quarterfinals on Monday, with opponent and time to be announced later.
