Jan. 28, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: “We,The People” have arrived at an inflection point! We are approaching the 250th birthday of our nation, and for God’s sake, look at what is going on!
We are currently under attack from a corrupt, cruel and unrestrained government, one that has set about dismantling our constitution and conducting raids upon our citizenry! This autocracy has authorized a group of thugs called ICE to occupy many of our cities and conduct illegal raids upon the citizens of those cities! Using the excuse of “hunting down” violent, undocumented immigrants, they are allowing these ICE agents free reign to drag innocent citizens out of their cars, homes and streets, and “take them away!”
The current administration has even tried to make excuses for the blatant murders these “agents” have committed against a young mother of three, Renee Good, and a compassionate, VA nurse, Alex Pretti, whose only crime was trying to follow his calling, and assist a young lady who was being attacked by ICE thugs! He had his arms around her, trying to offer protection! (There are not too many men who wouldn’t have done the same!) He was thrown to the ground by six ICE agents and then executed!
Another citizen, a senior citizen, was taken from his home in his underwear in very cold weather. A pregnant woman, driving to her doctor’s appointment, was stopped, had her side window smashed, was dragged out of her car, and thrown to the ground by ICE!
Where in the hell are our spineless leaders in Congress? Only a few who are brave enough have stepped up and forward and condemned what is going on! We are once again a nation under attack, and our “leaders” are nowhere to be found, unlike those brave men and women, all destined to be “Americans,” 250 years ago!
