Thank you to Tim Welsh for getting the sidewalks ready and to those who are helping with the steps so that we will be able to gather at the church on Sunday.
Weekly Bible study is starting up again. Gather to study Scripture together at 1 p.m. on Mondays at the Clarks. Anyone who is interested in opening God’s word together is welcome. No prior Bible study experience is required.
There will be a game night on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Clarks.
Lunch Bunch will meet Feb. 10 at Chick Fil-A at 12:30.
Ladies Circle will meet Feb. 12 at Deb’s at 7 pm.
There is an Ash Wednesday service on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m.
Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club met at Bethany Lutheran Church on Jan. 20. Thanks to Wayne Spencer and Bethany for opening their church so we could have our meeting there. Thanks to Bill Jenkins for organizing the Christmas Basket delivery and all the teams that delivered them. Eighteen hundred and fifty boxes were packed, and 3,393 people, including 1,197 children, received baskets. This was the 78th year of delivery. Bill Jenkins has decided to hand the reins over to others in the club. Bill has been so faithful in his service to our community over many years.
We held our annual chili cook-off. We had five participants. Wayne Spence won first place and was awarded a chef’s hat, apron, medal and given the famous can of chili and bowl trophy. Rob Wiley came in second. The Feb. 17 meeting will be held at the Rockbridge County High School Innovation Center at 6:30.
