The weekend’s winter weather prompted an early deadline for The News-Gazette and led to the cancellations/postponements of several sporting events. Foremost among the cancellations were games that were to have been played Saturday as part of the Rock the Ribbon Roundball Shootouot.
Because of the newspaper’s early deadline, sporting events that occurred Friday will appear in next week’s (Feb. 4) print edition, rather than in this week’s paper. These include basketball games between the Rockbridge County and Roanoke Catholic boys, the RC and Parry McCluer girls and the PM and Eastern Montgomery boys, and track and field meets involving the RC and PM teams.
