The Rockbridge County High School wrestling team split a pair of Shenandoah District dual matches last Wednesday, earning a 47-21 win over Fort Defiance but falling to host Riverheads 55-20.
The Wildcats’ record in duals is now 9-7. In facing Riverheads, it was a good test for RC against one of the favorites to win the Shenandoah District title.
In their last competition of the regular season today, Wednesday, the Wildcats are scheduled to wrestle in a district tri-meet at Waynesboro at 6 p.m., with Stuarts Draft also competing. The Shenandoah District tournament will be Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Stuarts Draft, starting at 4 p.m. RC sophomore Tasha Shorter is scheduled to compete in the girls’ Zone 4 qualifier on Friday and Saturday in Franklin County.
