Following its recent quarterly meeting, the board of directors together with Chief Executive Officer Steve Shank of the Virginia Horse Center Foundation announced the election of Emma Fass to the board for a three-year term.
Fass is a lifelong equestrian from Hampton Roads who has competed in hunter/ jumper competitions at every level, from local crossrails to the 3’6” hunters at top-rated shows.
Fass is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a degree in computer science with a minor in business. She began her career as a technology consultant before launching her own equestrian software company, RingSide Pro. Through this innovative platform, she works closely with USEF, USHJA, and other equestrian organizations to enhance and modernize the horse show experience nationwide.
Fass joins the board alongside President Roxanne Booth, Vice President Kenneth Wheeler Jr., Treasurer Judy Ulrich Miller, Secretary Elizabeth Horsley, and Past President Gardy Bloemers. Directors Judith Bishop, Brooks Cushman, William Heizer, Alan Lohman, Dudley Macfarlane, Rebecca Polan, Brian Ross, Christina Russillo, Owen Weaver, George Williams and Chris Wynne comprise the remainder of the 17-member board.
Shank stated, “The leadership and vision of our volunteer Board continue to drive the Horse Center’s success. Emma’s combination of equestrian expertise and technological innovation will be a tremendous asset to the Foundation. This is an exciting time for the Virginia Horse Center, and Emma will undoubtedly contribute to its continued momentum.”
