Justin Doll (left) is sworn in as the new Lexington chief of police by Clerk of the Circuit Court Michelle Trout in a ceremony held at the Rockbridge County Courthouse on Jan. 7. Doll’s appointment as police chief was formally approved by Lexington City Council during a special meeting held the night before. David Sigler made the motion and Nicholas Betts provided the second. The motion carried in a 4-0 vote with Council members Chuck Smith and John Driscoll not present at the meeting.
