Do You ‘Remember When’?

The News-Gazette has many reasons for why we do what we do, but one of the reasons is to preserve our local history.

We do that as we write and publish stories once a week about the events taking place, whether it’s the actions of government entities or civic groups, the accomplishments of sports teams or businesses, or the achievements of individuals.

But not everyone “makes the paper,” although everyone in our community has their own story to tell, a life they are living that has purpose and should be acknowledged. These stories, we believe, should be preserved for future generations.

With that in mind, we would like to ask you to participate in our next interview series, called “Remember When.” The interviews conducted in the series will be posted through our new online newsletter.

If you’re old enough to tell other people, “Remember when …”, then we’d love for you to join in this project. If you’re interested, email us at bthorman@ thenews-gazette.com or send us a message on Facebook, and Beverly Thorman, our digital specialist, will get back to you about setting up the interview.

More details about this project can be found on the newspaper’s website.
