New Dental Imaging Comes To RAHC

New Dental Imaging Comes To RAHC
THE 3D Panorex imaging machine will allow the Rockbridge Area Health Center’s dental team to perform more complex procedures in-house.

The Rockbridge Area Health Center recently announced a significant upgrade to its dental care capabilities with the acquisition of a new state-of-the-art 3D Panorex imaging machine.

The equipment was purchased through a grant from Delta Dental of Virginia, which also funded the replacement of three outdated X-ray units at RAHC’s Buena Vista clinic.

This new technology enables RAHC’s dental team to perform more complex procedures in-house, eliminating the need for patient referrals to specialists located hours away. This removes significant transportation and time barriers that previously caused many to delay or forgo necessary dental care.

The replacement of the existing X-ray machines in Buena Vista also improves access to higher-quality diagnostic images.

“Having this level of advanced technology in a rural setting is a game-changer,” said Dr. Stuart Fargiano, dental director at Rockbridge Area Health Center. “I’ve seen patients put off necessary treatment simply because the idea of a three-hour drive was too much to manage. This machine removes that barrier. It’s about more than just convenience; it’s about providing timely, quality care and taking that travelrelated stress completely out of the equation for our community. Ultimately, it gives our providers the state-of-the-art technology they need to provide the highest quality care to our community.”

The grant is part of the Delta Dental of Virginia’s ongoing commitment to improving the oral health and well-being of Virginians.
