A Piece Of Railroad History

A Piece Of Railroad History
In 1954, with the improvement of public roads and increases in automobile ownership, the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway decided to discontinue regular passenger service between Lexington from Buena Vista. The final day came on June 30, 1954. A ticket from the last day of service was a gift from Seth Goodhart to Byron Faidley (pictured). These photographs were taken in the old Lexington Passenger Station, next to the ticket window, and now the offices of ODK and the Historic Lexington Foundation. Byron is a board member of HLF.
