PM Girls Hoops Falls To Narrows

Tuesday, Jan. 13 -- Narrows remained perfect in Pioneer District play with a 66-23 win over Parry McCluer High School in a girls basketball matchup in Buena Vista.

Marayka Knoetze tallied 16 points and six rebounds, while Karsyn Reed had 13 points and eight assists for the Green Wave (8-4 overall, 4-0 district). Kayleigh Ramsey paced the Fighting Blues (3-9, 2-2) with 11 points.

PM led 4-2 just past the midway point of the first period, but Narrows used an 18-0 run that stretched into the second quarter to take command of the game at 20-4. The Green Wave's cushion wouldn't dip below 13 points for the rest of the night.

Ellyn Bowles chipped in 11 points for Narrows, and Kailyn Jones totaled 10 points and six rebounds. The Green Wave boasted a 29-16 advantage on the glass and won the turnover battle by a 30-13 count.

Kat Zissi chipped in five points for the Blues, and Josie Martinez contributed four markers.

PM will travel to Bath County for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff on Thursday.
