The Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who eluded police in Glasgow last Sunday.
According to a press release sent from the Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, deputies responded to an incident in Glasgow just before 9 p.m. A deputy observed a vehicle traveling at a “high rate of speed” within the town limits and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The driver failed to yield and continued to evade the officer, failing to stop at multiple stop signs and continuing to speed through “multiple streets, alleyways, and open fields in an effort to avoid apprehension.”
The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 400 block of Shawnee Street and the driver fled the area on foot. Deputies conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area, but were unable to find the driver.
The driver was identified as Phillip Brent Diamond, a 41-year-old resident of Glasgow. He is wanted on one felony charge of eluding police and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, failing to stop at a stop sign and driving without a license.
Diamond is described as being six feet, one inch tall with black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about the incident or Diamond’s whereabouts is being asked to contact the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 463-7328.
