Dec. 29, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: I just want to express thanks to everyone who made the Luminary Nights possible during the holidays at Natural Bridge State Park.
People, including state park rangers and staff, and members of the Friends of Natural Bridge, worked tirelessly and cheerfully to provide an exquisite candle-lit walk under the illuminated arch of the Bridge, with cocoa and cookies around several campfires along the creek, and on some nights, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Santa.
Up in the main lodge, the donation of one dollar or a nonperishable food would allow visitors to vote in the Christmas tree contest, which featured several dozen trees beautifully and thoughtfully decorated by a number of local businesses, civic and volunteer organizations, and school groups.
The whole event, over a series of nights, showed what a wonderful community we are all part of. We are truly fortunate. Thank you, NBSP! LISATRACY Rockbridge County
