Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Trimpi, owners of the Hickory Hill manor, were top winners in the statewide returns-per-ewe contest for 1975. Their commercial flock of 132 ewes produced 212 lambs and 1,104 pounds of wool, which brought in a total cash return of $11,542.91.
- Kit Sisson and Bob Lang opened The Good Trencherman, a delicatessen-style restaurant at the corner of Lee and Nelson streets.
- Dr. Charles F. Phillips Jr., an economics professor at Washington and Lee University, was elected president of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an honor society in economics with chapters on 330 college campuses in six nations.

The Rockbridge Area Regional IDA decided not to enter into a performance agreement with MeadWestvaco to establish a consolidated distribution center in the regional industrial park in Buena Vista. The IDA also voted to sell the industrial park to Buena Vista.
- Retiring from the Lexington Police Department were Brenda Wilson, department secretary for 21 ½ years, and patrolman Mike Hess, a 10year veteran of the LPD.
- José Garcia, owner of Lexington’s Don Tequila Restaurant, opened a second location in the old Pizza Hut building in Buena Vista.
