The coaches for Region 1C recently released their allregion football selections, and four Parry McCluer High School players were voted to the second team.
Two of those players were named to both the offensive and defensive units. Senior Nathan Glass was tapped as the second-team all-purpose player after passing for over 800 yards, rushing for more than 600 yards, and having a part in 20 total touchdowns as the PM quarterback. He was also named second-team punter with an average of 38.1 yards per kick during the season.
Also named to the secondteam was sophomore Timber Thomas, who earned a spot on both the offensive and defensive lines. Thomas led the Blues with three quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles this fall.
Rounding out the PM contingent were a pair of linebackers, junior Parker Snider and senior Jacob Shafer, who both earned second-team defense recognition. Snider led the Blues with 104 tackles this season, including eight tackles for loss, while Shafer finished with 67 tackles and a team-high two interceptions, despite missing three games due to injury.
Guided by third-year head coach Jeremiah Brockenbrough, the Fighting Blues went 6-5 overall. They entered the Region 1C playoffs as the sixth seeded and ended the season with a 42-7 road loss to third-seeded Grayson County, a Class 1 state semifinalist this year, in the Region 1C quarterfinals.
