Four Rockbridge area photographers won awards in the Sixteenth Regional Photography exhibit, Fx2, now open at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center in Clifton Forge.
The exhibit contains 82 images by 26 photographers in eight categories and will be on exhibit through Dec. 27. Regular center hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturdays, and the center is located at 439 E Ridgeway St. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite piece for the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced at the conclusion of the show. The show was judged by Roanoke photographer Barry Wolfe.
The local winners included Conrad Matiuk from Lexington who won second place in abstract/minimalism for his piece entitled “Dreamboat”, and second place in landscape for “There’s One in Every Crowd.”
Neil Robiichaux of Glasgow won second place in macro/still life for his photo entitled “Warm Soles,” while Ted Burrowes from Lexington won an honorable mention in the same category for his piece entitled “Tension.”
Judy Robichaux of Glasgow won a first place in landscape for her photo entitled “Taming Nature,” and a second place in show/stop motion for her piece “Beware the Dragon!”
