Southern Virginia University invites the community to its annual Lessons & Carols Service this Sunday, Dec. 7, at 5 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lexington.
Presented under the theme “The Light of the World,” this year’s program features performances by all SVU choral ensembles, Bella Voce (pictured at left), Chamber Singers, Men’s Chorus, and the Concert Chorale.
The choirs are conducted by Dr. Benjamin Gaughran, director of choral activities, and Dr. Mackenzie Romriell, director of vocal performance, at Southern Virginia University. They will be joined by some of SVU’s collaborative pianists, Justin Johnson, Dr. Hyrum Arnesen and Kamryn Bradshaw-Meyer.
“Lessons & Carols is one of the most meaningful musical traditions for our campus,” said Gaughran. “It brings together students, families, and the wider community in a moment of peace, beauty, and shared celebration during this season of light.”
