Cold temperatures did not keep folks away from the annual candlelight processional and tree lighting in Lexington on Friday. According to Jeremy Franklin, executive director of Main Street Lexington, 1,200 people turned out for the event, now in its 30th year. It was the first year, though, for a new artificial tree put up by public works (see separate story). Santa and Mrs. Claus led the processional in a horse-drawn carriage and posed with children at the conclusion of the tree lighting. (Joann Ware photos)
