The Collierstown Presbyterian Night Circle will hold its December meeting tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 4, in the fellowship hall at 7 p.m. A light supper in the church kitchen will b egin a t 6:30 followed by t he Bible s tudy. A llison Fetton will lead the study from Psalm 32 on forgiveness. All women are invited to join the group in person or on Facebook Live.

The Rockbridge Christmas Baskets packing day will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 8 a.m. until noon at the Virginia Horse Center. Community members are being asked to assist with the packing of Christmas baskets for needy individuals and families. Effinger Ruritans will deliver baskets to recipients following the packing event.

Santa will be coming to Collierstown to visit boys and girls in the pavilion at the Collierstown Baptist Church located at 3926 Collierstown Road, on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 2 u ntil 3:30 p.m. S anta’s v isit i s b eing hosted by the community’s seven churches ‒ Collierstown Baptist, Presbyterian, and United Methodist churches along with Mt. Horeb United Methodist, Oxford Presbyterian, Rapps Mill Church, and Union View Advent Christian Church. Children will be able to drop off letters to Santa, talk with Santa, and have their pictures taken with him. The Effinger Ruritan Club will sponsor pictures with Santa courtesy of Bluegrass Photography. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience some holiday fun!

The Effinger Ruritan Club’s community birthday calendars have arrived and are being distributed to individuals who placed orders in August. E xtra calendars are available at a cost of $4 each. Calendars can be purchased by contacting any Ruritan Club member or Chris Cartwright, club president, at (540) 461-0113.

The Effinger Volunteer Fire Department will host a Christmas dance on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. Music will be provided by SouthPaw. The cost of a ticket is $20 per person, and patrons must be 21 years old. Tickets may be purchased by calling (540) 460-3980.
