Eighteen-year-old Olivia Hickman of Lexington has capped off an outstanding year in the sport of eventing, achieving top finishes at competitions across the East Coast with her mount, Rocktop Dreamer.
Hickman moved up to the Novice level of eventing this season, earning top-six placements at every competition she entered and claiming two first-place victories. She concluded her year with a second-place overall finish — and first place in the junior/amateur division — at the prestigious Waredaca Classic Format Three-Day Event, where she competed against a field of 27 riders.
Her performance earned her a coveted scholarship from the Jimmy Wofford Legacy Fund, supporting her participation in the event. Hickman is now on track to finish the season ranked among the top 10 riders in the nation for her age and division.
In addition to her equestrian accomplishments, Hickman maintains a strong GPA at Rockbridge County High School and is poised to graduate near the top of her class in May of 2026. She also volunteers with Project Connection and is the high school correspondent for The News-Gazette.
