Karyn Gardner, (540) 228-2176, (540) 655-3646 [email protected]

Sending birthday wishes to my sister-in-law Sarah Barton in Logan, Utah, and to Rhudy Williams, Lauren Collingwood, Joanna Armstrong, Angie Clark, Lois Cornell-Cash, Ammon Christiansen and Gloria Pugh, as well as to Faith Baptist Church members Melissa Braford, Robert Gibson and David Johnson.

At Faith Baptist Church, a men’s prayer breakfast will be held this morning at 8. There will be a song and praise service at 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 and a Ladies Fellowship meeting at 10 a.m. on Dec. 1.

At St. John’s Episcopal Church, this Sunday’s service will be a Morning Prayer Service led by Brandall Branch. Many thanks to Dave VanOsten for leading the service this past Sunday. Thanks also to Bert Buford, Courtney VanOsten and Josh Gardner for providing music for the service and to Sharon White for hosting and providing refreshments for coffee hour.

Cave Mountain Lake Campground and Recreation Area is now closed for the winter season. The site will reopen in April 2026. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Camp-Resort on James River Road is also closed for winter. Jellystone will reopen in mid-March 2026.

A partial road closure on the Blue Ridge Parkway remains in effect from Va. 130/Elon Road to Va. 501, including the James River Visitor Center. The closure, from mileposts 63.5 to 63.9, is due to bridge rehabilitation where the Parkway crosses the James River.

The Glasgow Christmas Parade is coming up on Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. Lineup for participants begins at 3 at 10th Street and Rockbridge Road beside the car wash. Post-parade events will take place at the First Aid building at 710 McCulloch St., which will feature Santa, refreshments and the awards presentation.
