The parade will proceed along its usual route, coming onto Rockbridge Road (Va. 130) from 13th towards the center of town, turning left on Blue Ridge Road and traveling to Powhatan Street before turning right and ending at the town shop, a block above the first aid building.
Awards will be given in a number of different categories, including for floats, vehicles and marching units. Preregistration is not required,, but anyone wishing to register in advance for the parade can do so by emailing [email protected] with their entry name and category. There is no fee for entering the parade or for registering in advance.
Instead of throwing candy, participants are asked to hand it out. Also, the official Santa Claus will be provided by the parade sponsor and there should be no other Santas.
